Real-time folder watch
An audit is a snapshot; watch keeps looking. CADKeeper watches the folders you choose and flags any file that lands with a name that breaks your standard — the moment it's saved or renamed — so a folder that's clean today stays clean. It's a CADKeeper Pro feature.
What it does
Once you add a folder to the watch set, CADKeeper checks every file that arrives or gets renamed against your active naming standard, in real time. When something non-compliant shows up — a drawing saved with the wrong discipline code, a stray _FINAL, the wrong separator — it raises an alert so the problem is caught at the source instead of piling up until the next audit.
How it works
1 · Add folders to watch
Point CADKeeper at one or more folders. You can watch as many as you like at once — a live project directory, a shared drop folder, an incoming-from-consultants folder.
2 · Leave it running
While CADKeeper is open, it watches quietly in the background. As files are saved or renamed, any that don't match your standard are collected as alerts, each showing the file and why it's flagged.
3 · Fix from the Audit tab
Watch tells you; it doesn't touch anything. When you're ready, jump to the Audit tab and fix the flagged files the usual way — preview the corrected names, approve, apply, all reversible.
Alert-only — nothing is changed automatically
This is important: folder watch never renames, moves, or deletes a file on its own. It only surfaces problems. Every fix still goes through CADKeeper's usual preview → approve → apply → roll back path, so an automated watcher can never silently rename a live project file. You stay in control of every change.
Runs on your machine
Watching reads only file names, paths, and timestamps — the same metadata-only approach as the rest of CADKeeper. It never opens your drawings, and nothing about the watched folders leaves your computer. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what does and doesn't touch the network.
